Kaitlyn Baker, named among the “Top 10 country artists to watch in 2017” by The Huffington Post, has been booked for this year’s Scarecrow Festival in Washington C.H.

Baker, whose music has been described as country with tinges of blues, bluegrass, rock and gospel, will be the opening act for country music artist Craig Morgan the night of Saturday, Sept. 16. The 2017 festival will run from Sept. 15-17, according to event organizers.

The concert starts at 8 p.m.

“We’re excited that another top country performer is coming to our festival,” said Mekia Rhoades, chairperson of the Scarecrow Festival committee.

Baker began attracting national attention two years ago when the Academy of Country Music included her song, “Coal Train,” on the 2015 ACM Awards ZinePak album alongside tracks by Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan and other superstars.

Baker’s single “Heart of Appalachia” is the official theme song for tourism in her native southwest Virginia. More recently, her single, “To Pieces,” has been climbing the MusicRow Country Breakout Chart.

She has opened for Travis Tritt, Billy Currington, Rhonda Vincent, Chase Bryant and other popular artists. Other credits include performances at Country Jam Colorado and on the nationally syndicated PBS television concert series, “Song of the Mountains.”

The music of Kaitlyn Baker is available on iTunes, Amazon and Spotify. More information about her is available at www.KaitlynBaker.com.
