Accident results in fatality

The Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a one-vehicle accident that resulted in the death of a Frankfort woman.

According to Pickaway County Sheriff Robert B. Radcliff, the accident occurred on Clarksburg Pike south of Judas Road in Perry Township in Pickaway County on Friday at approximately 7:08 p.m.. The accident involved a 2006 Pontiac Montana minivan, driven by 40-year-old Christina Parks with one passenger, 68-year-old Douglas Henson.

A report from the Pickaway Sheriff’s Office said that the two were traveling southbound on Clarksburg Pike when Parks drove off the right side of the road into the ditch, continued into a field and rolled over, causing her to be ejected.

Parks was pronounced dead at the scene and Henson was transported to Fayette County Memorial Hospital by Fayette County Life Squad.

Parks was born on Aug. 11, 1976 in Chillicothe, the daughter of Maurice, Jr. and Carol Sowers Storts. She married Brent E. Parks, and he survives.

Also surviving are her parents, Maurice, Jr. and Carol Storts of Clarksburg, her five children, Madelyn Sellers, Carley Jo Sellers, Jodey Ater, Jullian Parks, and Jude Parks, all at home, her stepdaughter, Alexis Parks of Marysville, her paternal grandmother, Bertha Staats of Washington C.H., her two brothers, Greg Storts of Clarksburg and Shannon (Cindy) Storts of Washington C.H., her father and mother-in-law, Pete and Patti Parks of Columbus, one sister-in-law, Valerie Hinton of Chillicothe, one brother-in-law, Richard Parks of Delaware, OH, her nieces and nephews, Tony, Aaron, Brady, Gunther, Tori, and Brody.

The Fayette County Life Squad and Pickaway Sheriff’s Office were assisted at the scene by the Pic-A-Fay Fire District and Pickaway County Coroner, Dr. John Ellis. The incident remains under investigation by deputy Samantha Fearnow and Sgt. John Schleich.
