Board of DD to hold SALT spring series

Fayette County Board of DD would like to invite all parents and guardians of individuals who have a disability to Southern State Community College on Thursday, Feb. 23 from 6-7:30 p.m. for the School to Adult Life Transition (SALT) spring series.

The February presentation is entitled “Creating Change.” This session will give you tips and resources to help better understand methods to create change in the laws that affect you.

Other dates in the 2017 spring SALT Series are March 23 on Self-Advocacy. Find out how to support someone or how to develop the skills to be a self-advocate.

The April 27 session will be about Housing and Transportation. Join us to learn about transit, metro housing, Service and Support Administration, and Community Action.

The May 25 session will feature a panel discussion. Learn about services provided by your local county board of Developmental Disabilities.
