A Dayton man accused of trafficking thousands of dollars worth of heroin and crack throughout Fayette County has been indicted.

William L. Pointer, aka “Low,” is incarcerated in the Fayette County Jail after a warrant was executed in December for his arrest.

The 38-year-old was indicted on five felony charges: engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, a felony of the first degree, four counts of trafficking in heroin, each third-degree felonies, trafficking in heroin in the proximity of a school, a fourth-degree felony, trafficking in heroin, a fifth-degree felony, and trafficking in cocaine, a fifth-degree felony.

Detectives working with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office reportedly set up operations to purchase narcotics from Pointer in different locations around the county.

Detectives and informants allegedly purchased $2,510 worth of crack and heroin from Pointer between Aug. 5 and Oct. 24, 2016.

The Nov. 18 indictment reports Pointer will forfeit $6,000 in cash and an Oldsmobile Intrigue.

Pointer is scheduled for a final pretrial hearing in the Fayette County Court of Common Pleas Feb. 7 at 8:30 a.m.

Fayette County Clerk of Courts records indicate Pointer was sentenced to four years in prison in 2013 for possession of heroin, trafficking in drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
