Charm-n-Farm 4-H Club holds fourth meeting

The fourth meeting of the Charm-n-Farm 4-H club was held on Jan. 15, 2017 at St. Colman Parish Center.

President Clare Sollars called the meeting to order at 12 p.m. Pledges were led by Courtney Arnold and Anna Robinson. Secretary Laura Robinson conducted roll call and read the minutes of the previous meeting. Spencer Minyo moved to approve the minutes and Anna Robinson seconded. Treasurer Spencer Minyo reported to the club the balance in the account, safety officer Mcale Callahan reported to the club on safe winter driving, and health officer Claudia Fuller reported to the club on the importance of calcium.

Under old business, president Clare Sollars reminded the club that enrollment forms and club dues were due last meeting. Under new business, Sollars informed the club that Jr. Superintendent applications are due Jan. 20, registration for the Ohio 4-H Teen Conference is now open, and that Quality Assurance will be March 20-22. The club also discussed and approved a motion to donate to the camp, 4-H awards, and the general 4-H program.

For advisor’s corner, advisor Bridget Sollars informed the club of the requirements to be a gold club, and some general information about the Health and Safety Public Speaking Contest. Mcale Callahan gave a demonstration on keeping fit and giving your body the fuel it needs, and Claudia Fuller gave a demonstration highlighting foods high in calcium.

Trevor Minyo moved to adjourn the meeting, and Anna Robinson seconded.
