A bench warrant was issued Monday for a man facing multiple charges, including improperly handling a firearm in a vehicle and nonsupport of dependents.

Bradley N. Carr, 34, with a last known address in Washington Court House of 4040 US Route 22, failed to appear for a scheduled court hearing Monday in the Fayette County Court of Common Pleas.

Steven Beathard, Fayette County Court of Common Pleas Judge, revoked Carr’s bond after he failed to appear and a bench warrant was issued for Carr’s arrest.

Carr’s attorney, Kathryn Hapner, made two phone calls on record during court Monday trying to reach Carr. The first number the court had listed for Carr had been disconnected, said Hapner, and the second number was for Carr’s grandmother.

“He was supposed to be in court at 10 this morning,” Hapner said to Carr’s grandmother over the phone.

Hapner said the grandmother reported that she had filed a restraining order against Carr. The grandmother reported she believed Carr had gotten out of jail and went to live in Tennessee with his mother.

Carr was indicted in May for nonsupport of dependents, a fourth-degree felony. Carr has a prior charge for nonsupport, according to court records.

He was indicted in August by a Fayette County grand jury for improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle, a fourth-degree felony, and illegal possession of drug paraphernalia, a fourth-degree misdemeanor.

Carr plead guilty to grand theft of a motor vehicle in 2014, and has past cases with the Washington Court House Municipal Court for possession of drug paraphernalia and operating a motor vehicle under the influence, according to court records.

As of this time, Carr has not been located.
