The 2016 Penny Pal campaign was another huge success here in Fayette County and raised just over $5,800.

Belle Aire Intermediate, Cherry Hill Primary and Miami Trace Elementary schools, along with Head Start, all participated in this year’s campaign. YUSA has been a longtime sponsor of the event and this year once again helped to sponsor supplies and prize money to the winning classes, as well as a partial match to the funds raised.

First place in the Washington City School District went to Mrs. Denen’s third grade class and second place went to Ms. Blair’s kindergarten class. First place at Miami Trace went to Ms. Zimmerman’s second grade class and second place went to Ms. Howard’s kindergarten class. First place for Head Start was Ms. Anthony, Ms. Noble and Ms. Smith’s room number five.

“Thank you to all who donated their spare change,” Debbie Bryant, president of the United Way of Fayette County, said. “You help make a difference in the lives of Fayette County residents.”
