Three Washington C.H. residents are facing charges after a drug-related search warrant was served at a Greensview Lane home.

According to Fayette County Sheriff Vernon Stanforth, the search warrant was executed by his office and agents from the US 23 Major Crimes Task Force just before noon Thursday at 1501 Greensview Lane, following a lengthy investigation into reported drug trafficking.

Members of the Sheriff’s Tactically Armed Response (S.T.A.R.) Team served the warrant without incident at the home of Paul Wesley Harris and detained those inside the house.

“During the investigation and subsequent search warrant, sheriff’s detectives recovered substances presumptively identified as heroin and methamphetamine, articles of drug paraphernalia, and an undisclosed amount of US currency,” said Stanforth.

Those arrested and charged were: Paul Wesley Harris, 46, for possession of drugs (fifth-degree felony); Justin T. Smith, 32, for possession of drugs (fifth-degree felony) and violation of probation; and Jessica A. Huff, 27, for an arrest warrant out of Clinton County.

All three were taken to the Fayette County Jail for incarceration. Huff was later released to Clinton County authorities and was taken to the Clinton County Jail.

Harris and Smith will be scheduled to appear in Washington C.H. Municipal Court to answer to charges.
