Members of the Fayette Garden Club held their October meeting at the Court House Manor’s activity room.

President Pam Rhoads opened the meeting with a poem entitled “The Seasons” by Lelah Kinney Ayres. She then welcomed the members and ladies from the Court House Manor.

Roll call was answered by each member naming what they liked about fall. Some of the things mentioned were the beautiful colors of the fall leaves, mums, pumpkins and gourds.

Secretary Susan Meriweather and treasurer Debbie Carr gave their reports and they were approved as read.

Vice president Marjorie Clifford and Jodi Kirkpatrick gave a report on the Fall Regional Meeting held at Caesar’s Creek State Park.

The program books for the coming year were passed out to members.

A report was given on those members who were unable to attend the meeting, and cards were signed to be sent to each one.

The horticultural tip was given by president Pam on container gardening. This is a good way for gardeners to grow plants and they are easily taken care of.

Favors of miniature buckets were filled with mints to be given to everyone attending the meeting. There was also a table with donuts, cookies, assorted mints and punch that was served to all attending.

A sing along was held and president Pam gave histories on the songs that were sung. Members of the garden club visited with the ladies from the Manor and an afternoon was enjoyed by all attending.

The next meeting will be held at the New Holland Methodist Church with a carry-in of food and wreaths are to be made by the members.
