The Fayette County Memorial Hospital Foundation has added two new board members: Kathy Dean and Shannon Jacobs.

Dean is the co-owner and manager of Dean Apartments in Washington Court House. She graduated from the University of Cincinnati, where she studied communication arts. Dean is married to Dan Dean, a Fayette County Commissioner, and they have two children: Amy and Jon.

“I am excited to be a part of the Foundation,” Dean said, “because I want to be able to help our hospital in anyway possible. FCMH is an essential part of our community, and I want to do my part to help it remain as such.”

Jacobs is a certified mediation instructor and owner of Practical Wellness, LLC. She attended McLean Meditation Institute, earning her meditation certification, as well as Miami University, graduating with her bachelors of music. Jacobs and her husband James have two children.

“It is my sincere desire to contribute a fresh perspective and mindful outlook to the Foundation board. I am honored to be part of such an enthusiastic and effective team,” Jacobs said.

Dean and Jacobs join the existing Foundation board members, including: Pamela Langely Pittel, president; Roger Kirkpatrick, vice president; Norma Kirby, secretary; Ronald Ratliff, treasurer; and the members-at-large, Ronald Amore, Vanessa Blevins, Nick Epifano, Rob Herron, Shirley Pettit, Dan Roberts, and Sarah Thompson.

The FCMH Foundation was established in the spring of 2010 to function as the fundraising arm of the hospital in support of its mission and charitable purposes. The Foundation offers a way for the community’s residents and businesses to directly invest in equipment, services, and programs to enhance patient care, and the quality of life in Fayette County.

The Foundation’s mission is forging the future of FCMH by increasing awareness of needs and raising funds.
