Members of the Fayette Garden Club gathered at the home of Shirley Johnson for their annual Christmas Luncheon.
The table for the 16 guests was beautifully decorated with a bright red table cloth holding silver and gold platters. An ornament and a Christmas candle was at each place setting. Red bows and ornaments decorated a 12-foot tree as well as other Christmas decorations that gave the room a festive feeling.
Hostesses for the event were Shirley Johnson and Jodi Kirkpatrick.
Mary Estle led in prayer before a delicious meal was served.
The menu included: lobster bisque, pomegranate-parm salad, beef tenderloin, mashed potatoes and asparagus. Guests could choose between chocolate cake and turtle cheese cake for dessert. Chef Brenda Cupp and helper Brenda White had prepared this delicious meal. Mary Jane Queen and Kathy Yahn were the servers.
Gifts including hats, scarves, toiletries, etc., were placed under the tree. These were to be delivered to The Warehouse for the teenage girls that attend there.
Members were reminded that they will receive the club’s program books in March when the meetings resume.
Before leaving, everyone was presented with another Christmas gift. Those in attendance were: Debbie Carr, Marge Clifford, Mary Jane Esselburne, Mary Estle, Julia Hidy, Shirley Johnson, Jodi Kirkpatrick, Lynn Maust, Joanne Montgomery, Linda Morgan, Pat Parsons, Pam Rhoads, Barbara Sams, Jean Smith, Linda Warfield and guest Sandi Kelley.
