The Washington Garden Club October meeting began with a trip to Bellbrook. The members spent a day in “Tuscany.”

President Jo Ann Brady attended the business meeting with five members. The outing was in honor of outgoing Region 16 Director Linda Morgan, a member of Washington Garden Club and Fayette Garden Club. Contact Linda to become a member of the area garden club at 740-948-2476.

Linda served her office for four years. Region 16 has six counties which makes up 13 clubs. She was in charge of this area.

“The day in Tuscany” was filled with several programs, conducted by Knollwood Garden Center in Beavercreek. Barb Keddler lectured on the different types of herbs. She gave instruction on picking, planting and caring for your herbs.

Cary Tomoser demonstrated the cooking and eating of the herbs. She shared chocolate chip and sugar cookies, the “Best” pesto bread, peach basil sangria, and herbal cucumber soup.
