Jennifer Reed has been promoted to the position of director of the Fayette County Memorial Hospital (FCMH) Medical Records Department.

The move comes about as previous director, Bonnie Hall, has retired after 30 years of service to FCMH. Reed started with the organization five years ago as a unit clerk in the emergency department, was an intern in Medical Records and was transferred to a position within the department upon the completion of her degree in health information management.

Reed has a team of seven who are responsible for collecting patient information, issuing medical files, filing medical records, coding and processing patient admissions and discharges.

“I love working here. When I was studying I didn’t think a hospital setting was for me, because my experience has always been with larger hospitals,” said Reed. “I have had a lot of opportunities here that I would not have had at a larger facility.”

“Jennifer has been a valuable part of the FCMH team since she started here and we are proud to see her grow and progress to the position of Director,” said FCMH CEO Mike Diener. “I have no doubt she will continue the excellent tradition of service we are accustomed to in the Medical Records department.”
