What’s happening at Carnegie Public Library?

What a busy month October was for us at Carnegie Public Library! In addition to creating and sharing online content and registering eCards for new patrons, we had 655 curbside pick-ups for more than 4,000 books, DVDs, music CD’s, audiobooks, magazines and more!

Curbside pick-up of library materials is easy! First, order your materials on the SEO Libraries App, through the library’s website (cplwcho.org), or by calling us at 740-335-2540. Next, the library will notify you once your items are available. Then, call us when you arrive in the library parking lot, and library staff will bring your items to you!

Also in October, readers in Fayette County borrowed nearly 2,000 digital titles through the Ohio Digital Library! Did you know that you can browse, checkout and renew ebooks and digital audiobooks from home? The Ohio Digital Library (ODL), our consortium for e-books, and digital audio and video, has more than 440,000 copies of more than 179,000 individual titles, accessible now with your library card!

Don’t have a library card? Go to www.cplwcho.org/ecard and complete the form. Library staff will email you a library card number and PIN. E-Resource cards never expire, and are valid for online circulation only. Once you have your card, if you wish to borrow physical materials as well, please bring in a photo ID to gain additional borrowing privileges. If you already have a library card, you have access to all of the above-mentioned services. If you are not sure of your PIN, or have lost your card, please submit a query through the “Contact Us” option on the library’s web site.

Adults: Carnegie Public Library is posting weekly giveaways through the holidays. Visit the library’s Facebook page to answer this week’s question — leave your answer in the comments section on the giveaway post, and you will be entered in the giveaway. Winners will be chosen at random each week and announced the following Friday. We love reading your responses! Also, check out the library’s social media pages for upcoming adult “take & make” crafts!
