MT bond issue has three tries

1 days 11 hours ago | | | Email

If the Miami Trace Local School District cannot pass its 3.9-mill, 37-year bond issue for a new high school by August of 2015, the state’s 31 percent share for the project will drop to 25 percent in the next funding cycle.According to the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission’s (OFCC) fiscal year 2015 rankings, this 6 percent drop is due to an increased property valuation in the Miami Trace school district, according to MT Superintendent David Lewis. The total cost of the project is around $35.5 million with the OFCC committed to paying 31 percent, which is just over $11 million. The local share of the project is 69 percent, or around $24.5 million.
